In questo post vorrei parlarvi della mia esperienza di studio all'estero. A fine maggio sono partita per un mese di studio a Manchester (Inghilterra) per migliorare il mio inglese. All'inizio ero terrorizzata!! Anche perchè sono partita dall' Italia da sola ed era la prima volta che facevo un viaggio sola..Ma partiamo dall'inizio.... Io sono partita con EF (Education First), devo dire che i costi non sono proprio economici, ma io mi sono trovata bene. La scuola era carina, forse un pò piccola (specie alcune aule) per la quantità di studenti che eravamo, ma in compenso gli insegnanti erano davvero bravi, tanto che in quattro settimane sono passata ad un livello superiore.
Manchester è una piccola città, soprsttutto industriale e se dovete andarci per turismo quattro giorni sono più che sufficienti... Se volete visitare i musei ricordatevi che sono GRATIS! è una bellissima cosa che purtroppo in Italia e in molti altri paesi non c'è.
Il centro della città è molto carino pieno di pub, ovviamente. I prezzi non sempre sono contenuti, ma ci sono molti posti carini dove si mangia anche bene (per essere in Inghilterra)
Io ho alloggiato nell EF residence "Wilmslow Park". Allora il residence non era proprio male, ma la pulizia era terribile! Non c'era manutenzione e la cucina in comune (nel mio caso) era molto sporca. La cosa positiva era che avevo una camera singola e soprattutto un bagno privato in camera!!!
Con i miei coinquilini non mi sono trovata bene, a parte un signore francese molto simpatico...ho fatto molte amicizie a scuola e, considerando quanto sono timida è andata moooolto bene. Direi che per le persone molto timide è davvero una bellissima esperienza perchè sei costretto a comunicare con persone di altre nazionalità, a scuola ti fanno lavorare a gruppi o a coppie aiutandoti a migliorare.
In conclusione direi che la mia esperienza è stata molto positiva, ovviamente bisogna adattarsi molto, soprattutto se si condivide camera e bagno con altre persone, ma è un'esperienza davvero utile che consiglio a tutti!!!!

In this post I will talk about my study abroad experience. In late May, I went to a month of study in Manchester (England) for improving my English. At first I was terrified! Also because I went from 'Italy alone and it was the first time I had a trip alone ..
But from the beginning .... I am going with EF (Education First), I must say that the costs are not exactly cheap, but I found myself well. The school was nice, maybe a little small (especially some classrooms) for the amount of students that we were, but at least the teachers were really good, so much so that in four weeks I went to a higher level.
Manchester is a small town, especially if you have to go for industrial and tourism four days is more than enough ... If you want to visit the museums remember they are FREE! is a beautiful thing that unfortunately in Italy and in many other countries there is no.
The city center is full of very nice pub, of course. The prices are not always content, but there are many nice places where you can also eat well (for being in England)
I've stayed in EF residence "Wilmslow Park". Then the residence was not really bad, but the cleaning was terrible! There was no maintenance and shared kitchen (in my case) was very dirty. The good thing was that I had a single room and especially a private bathroom!
With my roommates I have not found good, except for a very nice French man ... I have made many friends at school and, given how timid went soooo good. I would say that for very timid is really a wonderful experience because you are forced to communicate with people of other nationalities in school they make you work in groups or in pairs helping you improve.
In conclusion I would say that my experience has been very positive, of course you have to adapt a lot, especially if you share the room and bathroom with other people, but it is a really useful experience that I recommend to everyone!!
